Gasket leak or from a oil return tube leak....I just replaced my oil pump. 6th engine pull in 10 years. I used high temp red silicone this time for the oil pan, not the grey gasket maker I used last time. 100% clean surfaces. My engine was rebuilt not long ago, so all my main seals are new. Oil lines are new, everything, but now it's leaking oil from the driver's side. Oil is on the block, above the oil pan, and dripping down mostly from the pan, where it sticks out on the driver's side, and it's comming from above. I went to torque the turbo oil return bolts a bit more, and one snapped. I did switch to a regular hose clamp, from stock, for the return rubber oil tube as well. So.. I'm thinking the hard oil return line was the culprit as the bolt busted, and was probably not seated all the way? It was a bit tight going in. I probably cross threaded it, and will now have to find a way to get it out. Could all that oil come from a leak in the oil return line?
